Pilates for beginners in Dubai: how to start

Everyone in Dubai seems to do Pilates, and you'd like to start too. Here's everything you need to know before your first class, and how to try it without committing to a pack.

Reformer or mat: where to start

Mat Pilates is done on the floor, with your body weight and sometimes small props. It's a great way to learn the basics: breathing, core control, posture.

Reformer Pilates uses a machine with springs and a moving carriage. It supports you and adds resistance, so many beginners actually find it easier to feel the right muscles. Most Dubai boutique studios are reformer studios. See reformer vs mat Pilates for the details.

Choose a beginner-friendly class

How often should a beginner go?

Two classes a week is a great rhythm to see progress in a few weeks: better posture, a stronger core, and less tension in your back and shoulders. One class a week is already a good start.
