Hot yoga in Dubai: what to know before you go
Hot yoga is everywhere in Dubai, and once you try it, it's hard to stop. Here's what to expect in a heated class, how to prepare, and how to book one today for less.
What is hot yoga?
Hot yoga is yoga practised in a heated room, often around 35 to 40°C, sometimes with humidity. The heat warms your muscles, so you can move more deeply, and you sweat a lot. Classes can be a fixed sequence (like Bikram-style) or a heated vinyasa flow.
How to prepare
- Drink plenty of water during the day, not only during class.
- Eat light, and not in the 2 hours before.
- Bring a towel for your mat, a big bottle of water, and a change of clothes.
- Wear light, fitted clothes that you don't mind sweating in.
- Listen to your body: rest or step out if you feel dizzy. If you're pregnant or have a health condition, check with your doctor first.
Is it for beginners?
Yes, if you go easy. Stay at the back near the door for your first class, take breaks, and don't try to keep up with everyone. If you've never done yoga, a regular hatha class first can help.
